Now I'm Mad...

So it has over a month since our last post. We’ve been short staffed, we’re on multiple external projects right now, and oh yeah, hurricane Ike took out our power for a week and left our house in pretty bad shape. Excusable? No.

Perhaps we could throw out the excuse that all of our stocks in the stock market SUCK so we have no extra money to buy domains. Of course, that wouldn’t be an excuse… that would just be reality. All of these things have us VeryUpset.com indeed.

Of course that domain is available on auction for $15 with less than 24 hours to go. Enjoy, happy bidding, and come back soon!

Now you see it...

We’ve brought you not one, but two magical domains today: IllusionStudio.com and MagicTricksBlog.com. Both have 1 bid at $10 and more than 24 hours remaining to bid.

We think both names could be fairly profitable. A lot of people turn to the web to see how particular magic trick is performed or to watch videos of some really magic tricks. It’s definately a “niche” market, but with the right audience, we could see both of these domains disappear quickly.

WorshipWithUs.com

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

We’re a little late on this one, but it sits with 1 hour left and a ten dollar price tag. We are thinking that just about ANY church would like to have this little gem. It is generic enough to be used for almost any religious establishment, and with the current price and time left… it should be a great bargain!

Good luck!

Update: SOLD for $20! Not a bad price for an “easy-to-remember” website that could EASILY be bounced to any existing church or worship service site. We did bid on this domain, we didn’t win it though, and we chose not to run the price up on it for someone else. We think they got a great bargain… congrats!

Air Powered

Came across this today, currently at $15 with five days to go. We think this would be an awesome name for a number of wind products or at the very minimum a great site for kite surfing.

Wind is suppose to be the next “big” thing, but we’ll really have to wait and see. For now, we’re definately watching this one.

Update: This auction closed at $239 on 14 bids…

Free Fall

We know people in Florida, specifically Jacksonville. They’re probably not the skydiving type, but as we’ve mentioned before most of our site investments are for possible future retirement plans. Maybe we can pay a visit and scope out a possible business venture. We understand that Jacksonville is a beautiful area, and retiring in Florida wouldn’t mean the end of the world.

All that said, we’ve never been skydiving before, but we’ll try anything once. We think this name is a little “specific”… not as good as FloridaSkydiving or SkydivingFlorida, but a good name none-the-less as Jacksonville has an estimated population of more than 800,000 people.

Update: This auction closed at $120. We were hoping this domain would free fall into our lap, but that wasn’t the case. Congrats to whomever pulled the rip cord on that price tag.

With Style...

The perfect domain name for a limo or courier service is on auction now. Not only that, but it has a bid price of $50 (buy now at $250). We think this price is an absolute steal… if you can getaway with it.

IPhoneExperts.com

Monday, July 7th, 2008

We took a “LONG” weekend here at BVTD and enjoyed the Fourth of July holiday (we’re pretty sure you didn’t miss us much). We watched several auction boards over the weekend, and we are not really excited about much that is out there right now. We did come across “IPhoneExperts.com” which is sitting on a $10 bid with four days remaining. We think this is a great name, and whomever is selling it, is selling it at a great time. Four days from now, Apple is expected to release the first “Major” update for the IPhone.

This update will include the ability for the phone to receive third party applications. As these applications are developed, resources and sites will be need to feed the development and user base around this great device. We think IPhoneExperts.com would be a great name for something like that…  Of course there are possible copyright issues around a name like this… but if you’re offering a knowledge based service which promotes Apple’s product, we’re not sure they would really want to shut you down.  BTW, if you don’t own an IPhone, and you’re in the market for one, they’re pretty darn cool. Especially when you can write a post like this one from one.

Ground Pilots

Googling “Sport Flyers” returns almost 400,000 results. Most of these belong to radio controlled groups for various locations. The model airplane industry is fairly popular, and even if this name isn’t used for that purpose, it is generic enough to belong in the aviation industry. The FAA now offers a “Sport Flying” license that is not as expensive and less technical than a regular aviation pilot’s license. We ourselves would LOVE to own one of these.

That said, we expect this domain to go for a lot more than our budget allows, but we’ll be watching closely.

The Best Site In The World!

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

We haven’t posted much this week… mainly because we haven’t been too enthused with the current auctions. Except for Bido which had some sweet action on CerealBox.com today for almost three grand. We personally think someone overpaid for that domain, but then again, you never know, a domain is what you make of it. And furthermore, a domain is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. For us, we’ll just leave our laptop closed in the morning and stick to the back of our standard Lucky Charms.

We caught an interesting article today on CNN about ICANN possibly opening up A LOT of extensions to domain names. You can read it here. We’re not exactly sure what to think about this… besides the fact that it will muddle the market more than it already is… swell (note: insert sarcasm here).

Finally, as a treat for not posting much this week, we leave you with the best site in the world. “BestSiteInTheWorld.com” that is… which is currently on auction for 9 more days, and we put in the initial bid for $15. Who wouldn’t want to own the best site in the world for fifteen bucks?

QualityStyles.com and GuestChoice.com

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Two generic names, “QualityStyles.com” and “GuestChoice.com“, are currently out on TDNam. Both have 6+ days left in auction, and both are currently listed under $20. Both are generic enough that they could apply to just about any product or industry, and they could be used in marketing campaigns or product lines. We’ll be bidding on/watching these over the next few days.

Update: QualityStyles.com sold for $251 and GuestChoice.com sold for $158 … nice prices on both generic names.
